Padmavathi Tours & Travels runs chauffeur-driven tempo travellers and premium cars out of Udupi. We do one thing, and we try to do it properly: put the right vehicle and the right driver in front of your family, at the time we said we would.
Why chauffeur-driven, always
We do not offer self-drive, and that is a deliberate choice. The roads our guests travel — the Agumbe and Charmadi ghats, the temple lanes around Kollur and Dharmasthala, NH-66 at Maravanthe in the monsoon — reward local knowledge and punish unfamiliarity. Our drivers are permanent staff, not aggregator partners. They know which temple closes at noon, where the good vegetarian meal is on the Kundapura road, and how to help an elderly passenger in and out of a tempo without being asked.
What we actually promise
- The vehicle you booked. If the Urbania you asked for is unavailable, you hear about it before the trip, not at your gate.
- The rate you agreed. Driver, fuel and taxes are in the quote. Toll, parking and permits are at actuals and we show you the receipts.
- Papers in order. Valid commercial registration, permit, fitness certificate and insurance on every vehicle in the fleet.
- A person on the phone. Not a call centre. If you call at 5 AM because your flight moved, someone answers.
- Clean interiors. Cleaned before every trip. It is the smallest thing and the first thing people notice.
Where we work
We are based in Udupi and pick up across Udupi district and Dakshina Kannada — Udupi and Manipal, Mangalore, Karkala and Kundapura, plus Brahmavara, Kaup, Moodbidri and Bhatkal. Trips run anywhere in Karnataka and into the neighbouring states, most often to Kollur, Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Murudeshwar, Gokarna, Sringeri, Horanadu and Coorg.
