Why people make this trip
India's tallest plunge waterfall, dropping 253 metres in four separate streams. Outside the monsoon and the post-monsoon dam releases the falls thin dramatically, so timing matters more here than on any other trip we run.
What the road is like
North on NH-66 to Honnavar or Kundapura, then inland and uphill through Siddapura. The last stretch is forest road, narrow in places but in decent condition.

One thing worth knowing
Check whether the Linganamakki dam is releasing before you commit to the date. In a dry February the falls can be a disappointment; in September they are overwhelming.
